Gately zone

Some 15 million records and numerous sell out tours later, the boys are back. Following their reunion tour and with a Greatest Hits Album on the way, life’s looking good for the boys. So that’s why we sat down with the band’s Stephen Gately and tried to confuse him with the Living Questions…

Living...For the City
I live in London and I love it but I do love New York. With the travelling with the band, we’re heading back to Australia which I’m really excited about. We’re doing Asia and Hong Kong and those kind of territories which is going to be fun as I haven’t been there since the original days of Boyzone.

Living...On A Prayer
Living on a Prayer? Oh yeah I like that song, it’s a good song. Yeah, I’m still kind of religious. Do I believe in God? Yeah, ‘course.

Living... for the Weekend
I just tend to meet up with mates and kind of just go around the local area and chill out that way. It’s quite busy at the minute but we’re all getting time to chill out as well. The schedule is nowhere near as full on as it was in the early days.

The Living... Years
Now is probably nicer than when we were originally together. We’re more grown up and a bit wiser, more chilled out you know. There are kids, I’ve got a dog, Shane’s got a baby on the way..it’s a really good vibe, a real friendly vibe and we’re laughing so much with eight years of catching up to do...some of the stories that are coming out, someone will mention something and we’ll have such a laugh about it. This reunion is so different from the original days. It’s weird, the fans have grown up with us. They come to the gigs and they are bringing their kids and partners so there are lots more couples in the audience but it’s the same reaction. There’s still a fair amount of screaming and they’re doing all the hand movements. It’s just been phenomenal and we can’t believe our luck. You know...300,000 people wanted to come and see us on tour!

The...Living Daylights
Yeah, I am a Bond fan. And we were at Pine wood Studios, next to the Bond set, so we saw Daniel Craig walking around!

Living...in a Box
The nicest gift I’ve received...oh my gosh...erm...diamonds! (laughs) That was nice! We always used to get teddy bears and cards and flowers and stuff like that but not now as much as we used to. Sometimes you still get the odd kind of teddy bear. But I’m good at buying gifts myself. I’m not good with cards but I’m good at giving gifts.

Living...TV
I’m loving Desperate Housewives and that kind of stuff from the States. Oh and I’ve got Grey’s Anatomy Season 4.

Love You Anyway is released on Polydor Records on 29th September. Back Again...No Matter What – The Greatest Hits is out on 13th October. The comeback tour - Back Again...No Matter What – Live 2008 is released on DVD on October 13th..
