BIO: PAIGE IN PERSPECTIVE

Background:
As an adopted child, Paige grew up knowing she was loved by the Matthews family but always found herself wondering about her biological parents. Tragically, her adopted parents died in a car accident when she was 17, leaving Paige alone in the world (or so she thought). Desperate to turn her life around and eager to help others, Paige earned a college degree in Social Work and pursued the field as a career. When eldest Halliwell sister, Prue, was killed, Paige was inexplicably drawn to the funeral, where she encountered Piper and Phoebe Halliwell for the first time. The Source's Oracle revealed Paige to be the secret love child of their mother Patricia Halliwell and her Whitelighter, Sam Wilder, and therefore a Charmed One. Initially shocked and disturbed by her magical abilities, Paige slowly came to terms with her powers and her newfound family. She embraced both with her own special brand of enthusiasm and consequently the Power of Three is again a major force with which to be reckoned.
Character Traits:
As the youngest sister, Paige is proving to be an eclectic mix of all the Halliwell women. Usually playful and funny, she has a quick temper like Phoebe. She also has a strong sense of compassion for others, much like Piper. Yet, she also harbors a healthy rebellious side, as evidenced by her ever-changing hair color, and a love for the bizarre. Playing catch-up to her sisters when it comes to magic, Paige has proven to be an extremely quick learner. She has a knack for potion making, a talent she has no doubt inherited from her Grams. And what was initially self-preservation has blossomed into an accomplished ability to fight the most deadly demons. Although she was tempted to use her powers for personal gain, Paige quickly discovered what it means to be a Charmed One, and the responsibilities that come with that gift. These days she always tries to do the right thing (well, almost always!). Once she gained her powers, Paige tried to continue her job as a social worker, but it was too difficult to do justice to both of her callings. After devoting an entire year to honing her craft, it was time to get out into the world again. To leave time for Charmed emergencies, she 'endured' a string of temp jobs including: dog walking, fruit packing, secretary and home help aid — all of which mysteriously led her to some magical problem that needed to be solved. She has recently become headmistress of the Magic School, a position in which she is revelling.
Affairs of the Heart:
When Paige first discovered her powers, she was dating a regular guy named Shane. Unfortunately, The Charmed Ones' enemies turned him evil in order to destroy the new addition to the Halliwell fold, but thankfully the sisters were able to save him. For his own protection, Paige broke up with Shane. She then dated a guy named Nate, but he proved to be a creep — Paige found out he was married with a family! There was also a long-standing friendship with Glen, a friend from high school, but bad timing and different personal goals saw a bittersweet end to that potential match. Most recently, Paige fell in love with Richard Montana, a fellow witch with whom she could share the most secret part of her life. They connected deeply and eventually moved in together, but Paige soon realized that magic had been a destructive force in Richard's family, and his continued exposure to it would eventually destroy him too. She broke off the relationship for the good of Richard, and the greater good of magic!
Sister Act:
Paige has the unenviable position of not only being the newest and youngest Halliwell sister, but also having to fill the shoes of beloved eldest sister, Prue. Independent and unsure about her role in the family, Paige initially had a tough time feeling comfortable in the Halliwell fold. It took a little adjustment time, but the sisters eventually bonded and are now a force to be reckoned with. Paige's growing wisdom and confidence has made her an equal in the family.
The Changing Faces of Paige:
Over three seasons, Paige has been Phoebe, a teenage version of herself, a vampire, Snow White, a superhero, a Wood Nymph, a hippie and a Goddess of War!
