The fabulous J Alexander sashayed onto the very first season of ANTM as the flamboyant runway coach. We ’d never seen anything like it. He quickly became a regular feature and from season five took up his rightful position as panel judge.

Never one to hold back, J is the first to draw attention, in a hilarious way, to the girls’ special features, such as generous upper lip hair (Danielle, season six) or a case of over-enthusiastic eyebrows (Coryn, season five).

Starting off his fashion career as a model, J graced the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier in New York. After modelling in Tokyo he eventually settled in Paris and is now much in demand to both cast and coach runway models for fashion greats such as Valentino, Galliano and Alexander McQueen.

With his wicked wit, outlandish sense of style and particular talent for nurturing catwalk grace from new models, his skills are constantly in demand from the fashion industry. His studio remains a frequent port of call for industry commentators wanting to capture the secrets of his runway successes.
