Army Wives is a new US drama series about the struggles, dreams and friendships of a very diverse group of women and one man living with their spouses and families on an active army post.
From surrogacy and post-traumatic stress to addictions and marital problems, life is never dull for the other halves of their serving spouses.
The first series, from Grey's Anatomy executive producer Mark Gordon, is based on the books "Under The Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives" by Tanya Biank.
With births, relationships, friendships and families on the line, the Army wives choose to pull together to face their problems, left on their own as their men, and women, fight for their country.

Roxy LeBlanc
Roxy LeBlanc (Sally Pressman) has always lived a hard-knock life. Working two jobs, one of them in a seedy bar, taking care of her two young children from different fathers and living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she carries a lot of baggage. But then, her whole life suddenly changes when Army enlisted man Trevor LeBlanc walks into the bar and proposes marriage after only four days. Suddenly, her life at the bar is over and she is now an Army wife at Fort Marshall, a world away from her past.

Claudia Joy Holden
Claudia Joy Holden's (Kim Delaney) life has been nothing but the Army for as long as she can remember. She was just about to graduate from Harvard Law School when she suddenly changed course. Married for 17 years to Colonel Michael Holden, she has earned her own stripes as an Army wife. When he is passed over for a promotion to Brigadier General, mainly due to military politics, she fights for Michael's rightful place in the Fort Marshall chain of command as if she were on the battlefield herself.

Roland Burton
On a post filled with supportive wives, Roland Burton (Sterling K. Brown) is a rare sight; a supportive, civilian husband with his own career as a psychiatrist. His wife, Lieutenant Colonel Joan Burton is a career soldier, just back from a two-year tour in Iraq. They try to re-establish their relationship after being separated for so long.

Denise Sherwood
Denise Sherwood (Catherine Bell) is the complete opposite of Lieutenant Colonel Joan Burton, a traditional stay-at-home wife to the domineering Major Frank Sherwood and mother to their troubled teenage son Jeremy. Seemingly fine on the surface, Denise's arms bare the bruises of a secret she hopes to never reveal.

Pamela Moran
Pamela Moran (Brigid Brannagh) and her husband Chase also have an unconventional situation that they are trying to keep under wraps. Needing to contribute financially to the household since Chase is still trying to rise through the ranks, but not wanting to take a full-time job, Pamela, a former cop, now full-time mother to two children, agrees to become a paid surrogate for a couple unable to conceive, keeping it secret from all their friends and family.
