Speke Hall, Garston, Liverpool

This impressive Tudor Manor was constructed in the 1530’ and was used as a clearing house for foreign priests entering the country. But the sites history predates the current house by many hundreds of years with evidence of former buildings being incorporated in the manor walls. It’s believed that former resident Mary Norris haunts the house, her tragic story forcing her to walk the halls searching for her child. The Most Haunted team spend one night a Speke and attempt to summon the infamous white lady.

Inveraray Jail, Argyll

Built in 1820 the site was home to both a jail and courthouse serving all of Argyll. Over 6000 men women and children were tried and held in the prison where convict’s shared just eight cells with vagrants and the insane. Now used as a museum, visitors have reported many ghostly incidents in the cells including whispering, clanking chains and dark figures cowering in the shadows. The Most Haunted team have one night to investigate these stories, but who will visit them during the late night vigils.

Layer Marney Tower, Essex

Built in the first half of Henry 8th reign the tower gate house is a perfect example of a Tudor gatehouse. The building was the creation of Henry 1st Lord Marney, who died in 1523 and his son John who continued the work. The scale of the building is testament to the ‘one upmanship’ of the time with members of the royal court encouraged to build bigger and grander property’s to assert their status. Thought to be haunted by it’s former resident’s, who will the Most Haunted team meet on their investigation tonight.

Gaumont Cinema, Toxteth, Liverpool

The Gaumont Cinema was stands on the site of Toxteths old Picturedrome that was demolished in 1931. The Art Deco building was designed by W.E Trent and was officially opened to the public in 1937. Since opening the building has also been used as a bingo hall and performance venue, entertaining the likes of Cliff Richard and the Shadows. Now derelict the Most Haunted team investigate stories of suicide, mysteries dark figures and haunting light’s as they attempt to discover the truth behind this haunted location.

Inveraray Castle, Argyll

The castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll since the beginning of the 15th Century. The present castle is the third to have been built on the site and its guests have included King James 5th and Mary Queen of Scots. The castle has been destroyed by fire on two occasions, in 1897 and 1975, though extensive restoration has seen it lavishly brought back to its former glory. With stories of harp music being heard, a grey lady walking the halls and sightings of serving staff in the early costume, there is plenty ghostly activity for this Most Haunted investigation.

Kelevdon Nuclear Bunker, Brentwood

Hidden in a cloistered wood, some half mile down a dirt track off the A128 Ongar to Brentwood Road is a small unimposing bungalow with a big secret. Beneath its ram-shackled floors lies a three floored bunker complex in which upwards of 600 people would have been confined behind blast proof doors in the event of nuclear attack. Said to be very haunted and with poltergeist activity witnessed, what lies in store for the Most Haunted team above and below ground.

Tolbooth Museum, Castle Street, Aberdeen

The Tolbooth is one of the oldest buildings in Aberdeen, dating back to 1616. An earlier building existed on the site and dates back to 1393 and it’s from this time that the building gets it’s name, originally used as an area for collecting tolls for goods. One of the jails most famous residents was Janet Walker, known as the ‘Fittie Witch’, she was tried for witchcraft in the 17th century. With the jail cells still holding the tortured spirits of their former residents, who will make their presence know as the Most Haunted team investigate.

Cromer Pier, Cromer, Norfolk

Home to the nationally famous Cromer Crab, the resort was made famous in the early 19th century with the rich of Norwich holidaying and buying up property in the town. A pier has stood on the beach since 1391 with the pier that stands today officially opened to the public on the 8th June 1901. Over the years visitors have reported a wide range of ghostly activity from men in medieval rags to restless boatmen that still roam the shore line. With wrecked ships and half submerged settlements close by, who will make their presence known to the Most haunted team during their investigation.

Castle Fraser, Kemnay, Aberdeenshire

The history of the castle dates back to the late 12th century when Henry the 2nd was on the English throne. The earliest record of the Fraser family is 1366 when Thomas Fraser of Cornton received a charter from William de Keith of the lands of Kinmundy. The castle remained a residence until 1976 when it was given to the National Trust. The ghosts of the castle are said include everyone from prisoners to a princess, but who will visit during the Most Haunted investigation.

Edward Jenner Museum, Gloucs

Built in 1702, this building was home to,”the father of immunology”, Edward Jenner whose work helped eradicate Small Pox. Recent archaeological digs on the site have uncovered layers of history dating back to Roman times and a large number of female skeletons have been unearthed. A famous photo taken in the museum’s attic is believed to depict the ghost of Edward Jenner himself. Will he or the hosts of other ghosts said to haunt this place make themselves known to the Most Haunted team on tonight’s investigation?
