Night Six - The Search For Evil

Night Terrors (Incubus / Succubus) – Bidston Lodge

How would you feel if you woke from a deep sleep to find a strange entity sitting on the end of your bed or worst still in the bed with you? Medieval folklore tells of male & female spirits visiting the unwary whilst they slept to entice and take control of the unconscious sleeper and have them do their will. It is said these night terrors were charismatic, alluring, & persuasive, making up in enchantment what they lacked in menace to seduce both men and women into a life that would lead to eternal damnation.

Those who feel that the film & the book The Exorcist are merely an entertaining fantasy would do well to consider the case of the St Louis Exorcism on which the book was supposedly based. It was claimed to be the action of some demonic possessor who came by night. The young boy involved in the case ‘Robbie Doe’, was 13. It began with scratching noises, continued with disturbing attacks where his bed shook so hard that he couldn't sleep at night. His blankets and sheets were torn away from his grip. When he tried to fight back, he was reportedly hurled to the floor with the sheets still gripped in his hands – the onslaught apparently continued to the point where words such as ‘Hell’ and ‘Spite’ appeared on his torso. The boy was convinced it was the spirit of his Aunt Tilly who was causing his distress.

Will the Most Haunted team fall foul of the night terror’s beguiling fascination and worse as they seek to raise these mysterious spirits?
