A man's best friend is taking on the celebrities with a little help from the experts! Presented by reunited duo Mark Durden-Smith and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
The Underdog Show. A great new reality series comes to Living TV, which pairs up 10 rescue dogs - delightful doggy divas keen to learn new tricks and 10 celebrities - total novices in the art of canine control. The celebrities will choose their dogs from a Dogs Trust rescue centre and let them into their homes and hearts as they attempt to train them into obedience, and even in the art of new craze doggy dancing! Dogs and celebrities compete against each other in a series of tasks and, ultimately, find them loving new homes. This time hosted by Mark Durden-Smith and Tara Palmer Tomkinson, the celebrities and their canine counterparts have to impress both the judges and audience as both have a say in who stays in, but while the judges go for obedience and performance, will the audience vote for the charismatic Underdog? Dog lovers Mark and Tara, are reunited for the first time since their stint presenting together in the Australian jungle on I’m a Celebrity…get me out of here! The pair will be on hand each week to observe the proceedings as the most disciplined, draining and dramatic dog contest gets underway. A happy ending is guaranteed for all the eager to please pooches you’ll be pleased to hear, as at the end of the programme the departing doggie and other pooches, fingers crossed, will be re-homed throughout the country. Celeb dog owners this year are Brian Blessed (Actor), Raef Bjayou (Apprentice Contestant) MC Harvey (former member of the So Solid Crew) and girlfriend Javine Hylton (Singer), Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather actress), Camilla Dallerup (Strictly Come Dancing professional), Elize Du Toit (Actress), Kevin Sacre (former Hollyoaks star), Jason Wood and Ninia Benjamin (both comedians). The famous faces will select their new sidekicks from Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity. Each will be hoping to follow in the footsteps and paw prints of last year’s champion duo, former newsreader Selina Scott and Chump, her faithful Wolfhound cross. To achieve the accolade, the personalities and their pooches must embark upon an intensive training regime, crafting their agility and discipline skills and tackling tasks. The Underdog Show will be on your screens from Sunday, 21st September at 9pm.
