Italian-born Emilio Pucci's first foray into fashion came thanks to his stint in the 1934 Olympic ski team - he began honing his dressmaking skills by designing ski suits! His designs caught the eye of a photographer for Harper's Bazaar, and it wasn't long before he was designing clothes for women. Haute couture houses in Capri and Rome sprung up, and Pucci became well known for its signature use of bright colours, bold patterns, and striking designs. After his death in 1992 his daughter, Laudomia Pucci, continued to design under the Pucci name.
