Following the rollercoaster ride that is trends in denim can be tricky. The hundreds of brands devoted purely to denim is simply mind boggling and it will seem like one minute metallic silver jeans are in and the next it's bright yellow banana. So there is a possibility that when all the fashion mags are saying light faded denim with rips are back in, we might roll our eyes and think to ourselves "let's see how long that flash-in-the-pan trend lasts".

However, it might be that the catwalk extremes are putting us off. Christopher Kane's ripped seamed faded denim jackets and jeans were designed to shock on the runway and in reality, there aren't many who are willing to revisit those faded ripped denim days.
